In the first part of theĀ JW3 series, Index on Censorship CEO Jodie Ginsberg will host as actors readĀ excerpts from a selection of canonical texts banned and burned by the Nazis. The list includes a range of ground-breaking work from Einstein’sĀ Theory of RelativityĀ toĀ Bambi, books published in the early 20th century which continue to define our world today. The evening will be interspersed with liveĀ music deemed degenerate by the Third Reich.

In an era of endless social media feeds and encroaching government control, the written word creates a new truth and collapses an old one every second.
