Glasgow lifts ban on Life of Brian

Councillors in Glasgow have lifted an unofficial 30-year-old ban on the Monty Python film The Life of Brian. The council’s licensing and regulatory committee approved a request on Tuesday from Glasgow Film Theatre to show the biblical satire under a 15 certificate. Read more here

Judges brand Famine Song “racist”

The controversial Famine Song sung by some Rangers fans is racist, Scottish appeal court judges have ruled. The Justiciary Appeal Court upheld a conviction against William Walls over his conduct at a Rangers away match last year. The 20-year-old’s defence counsel had argued the song was within his right to free speech. Read more here
